Because you deserve a training platform that delivers.

Our Care Certificate course supports new and existing care staff to build safe, compassionate and confident practice. Covering essential standards for health and social care. Additionally, support through clear guidance, practical examples and workplace-focused learning for quality care delivery

Medication administration is one of the highest-risk responsibilities in adult health and social care. A small mistake with the wrong medicine, dose, time, person or record can cause serious harm. This course is designed to help care staff understand their responsibilities and practise safer, more confident medicines support in line with workplace policy, professional boundaries and UK health and social care expectations.
At Clarivive MedInsight, this course is delivered face to face so learners can ask questions, discuss real care scenarios and connect medicines practice with everyday situations they may meet at work. The training is not just theory. It focuses on practical decision-making, safe checking, accurate MAR/eMAR recording, consent, refusal, PRN medicines, storage, disposal, medication errors and escalation.
This course is suitable for organisations that want staff to receive structured, professional medicines training before workplace competence assessment or annual review. It supports safer care, stronger documentation and better awareness of the risks linked to medicines in adult care settings.
Learners should understand that this course supports safe practice but does not replace employer authorisation, local medicines policy, supervised practice or workplace competence assessment. Employers remain responsible for deciding whether a staff member is competent and authorised to administer or support medicines in their own service.
The aim of this course is to give learners the knowledge, confidence and practical understanding needed to support and administer medicines safely within adult health and social care settings, according to their role, workplace policy and agreed level of responsibility.
This course covers the safe support and administration of medicines in adult health and social care settings. It is suitable for staff involved in prompting, assisting, supporting or administering medicines where this is allowed by their employer’s policy and the person’s care plan.
The course includes awareness of prescribed medicines, over-the-counter medicines, PRN medicines, time-sensitive medicines, controlled drugs, topical medicines, inhalers, patches, eye/ear drops and common documentation requirements.
This course does not qualify learners to prescribe medicines, make clinical decisions outside their role, change doses, administer medicines without employer authorisation, or perform advanced clinical procedures such as intravenous medicines, injections, PEG medication administration or specialist medicines unless these are separately trained, assessed and authorised by the employer.
This course covers:
This course is suitable for:
This course is especially useful for staff working in care homes, nursing homes, supported living services, home care, day services and community-based adult care environments.
Learners who attend the full course and meet the required learning outcomes will receive a Clarivive MedInsight certificate of attendance/achievement for:
Medication Administration in Adult Health and Social Care — One-Day Face-to-Face Course.
The certificate confirms that the learner has completed the training. It does not automatically confirm workplace competence to administer medicines independently. Employers should complete local induction, supervised practice, policy familiarisation and workplace competence assessment before allowing staff to administer or support medicines without direct supervision.
We recommend that staff complete medication administration refresher training every year, or sooner if required by the employer, following a medicines incident, change in role, change in workplace policy, long absence from practice, or identified learning need.
Annual refresher training helps staff maintain safe practice, update their knowledge and reduce the risk of medication errors.
